Description

The common strawberry is up to 10, sometimes 12 m high and up to 0,5, except for even 1 m thick evergreen tree or shrub. The trunk is already rolled low above the ground, into a dense, correct and wide-spread crown with strong branches. The trunks on the trunk and the thicker branches are reddish, and later they are greyish, and the narrow bark of the bark is longitudinally peeled from it. The berth just below the surface at the passage of the trunk to the roots develops an irregular thickening, and from the adventive buds on its surface for several decades, even without external stimuli, the new above-ground shoots are strongly driven. The root system is branched and penetrates deep into rock cracks. The shoots are reddish and glandular hair, the buds are small, pointed and red. Premenely distributed, evergreen leaves are elongated elliptical or wrong eggs, pointed at both ends, 5-10 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, naked, above shiny and dark, below brighter. The leaf edge is sharply sagged and slightly bent, the stalk is reddish and 5-15 mm long. It is a single-species and purple species that flourishes from October to December. Up to 40 flowers are joined in a hanging, 3-6 cm long latched inflorescences. A single flower is two-sided and grows in the axis of a reddish umbrella, it is muggy, up to 9 mm long and a short-cut. The leaves are white to pale pink and grown, topped separately, mild and greenish. The leaves are short, rounded triangular and green to reddish. The supernatural herb is 5-part, 10 pigs are hidden deep in the flower. Late in the autumn, when the plant blooms, strawberries are similar (therefore name!), Edible round fruits with a characteristic tapering wart surface. They are initially green, mature dark red and 1.5-2 cm thick. Foliar, flaky fleshy insemination contains 20-30 small, oblong brown seeds, up to 3 mm long. The fruits are edible.

Widespread

It is naturally spread all over the Mediterranean, from Portugal to Greece and Asia Minor, also growing in the Mediterranean islands, in North Africa and on the Atlantic coasts, from Portugal and Spain across France and all the way to the western part of Ireland.

Usage and attractions

The berries are reddish-brown, very heavy, hard and resistant to pressure; It is similar in character to the wood of yellow soy. It is used in woodworking, carpentry and for the production of small items and vineyard sticks. In southern France, it gives praise for firewood and charcoal, in Greece there are looms made from it. Since the antiquity, Jagodičnici have been attuning magical power. The Romans had to touch the threshold and doorposts three times with her commas if they wanted to stop the vampire entry.

Use in healing and culinary arts

The fruits are sweet acidic, rich in vitamin C and edible. They are increasingly processed into jams, jellies, spirits and fruit wine. Excellent drinks are obtained if the fruits together with the lemon peel and sugar are irrigated in the spirit. In some cases, they are absorbed by the mucus, but larger amounts can cause digestive disorders and dizziness.

This is probably caused by sugar, which is partially converted into alcohol mannitol. It is precisely this feature that draws attention to the term unedo, which comes from Pliny's term "unum tantum edo", which means only one eating. Leaf and crust, which contain a lot of shrubs, were used for tanning of animal hides and antidiaroic, and leaves also like a spice similar to spice. Her yellow and slightly bitter but healing honey is also appreciated.
